Getting ready for a new school year.......
Lunch Choices
Lunch Choices
Student names are printed with a label maker and placed on a clothespin. When the students enter the classroom, they will find their name and make their lunch choice by clipping clothespin on the side of the container by their choice.
100th day puzzle
To prepare: put the puzzle together, flip the pieces over and number them in order 1-100. Each day a student will find the next number on the puzzle pieces and glue it to the puzzle board (cardboard cut to size). On the 100th day of school, this puzzle will be complete!
What Center Do I Go To?
Students know what center they go to by looking at the crayons on the board. The students will find their color of table that they sit at and the picture below shows which center.
Welcome Bags
On the first day of school each student gets a welcome bag.

Seat Pockets
My wonderful mom made seat pockets for my classroom. I have red, yellow, blue, green, and purple seat pockets to match my tables. Students know where they sit by looking for their name on the
clip-on name badge. What can you find inside the pockets? a student mini office, a bag of crayons, and an alphabet strip from phonics curriculum.
Student Mini Offices
Student offices are not only tools of reference for each child but also classroom dividers.
Spot the Dog
Spot is ready to 'spot' good behavior! When good behavior/smart choices are 'spotted' the student gets to feed Spot a bone. When the students earn 10 bones, they get a treat from the treasure box. Then the students have to earn 20 bones to get a treat from the treasure box. After that, they earn 30......
Name Tags
For backpacks and coats: We have hooks in the back of the room. Students know where they should hang their backpacks and coats by finding their name under the hook. To prepare glue name badge holder under hook. Write names on name tags and slide name tag into place.
Our cubbies are for books and other school things: Glue on name badge holders. Write names on name tags and slide into place.
My awesome husband made mailboxes for our class. The mailboxes are for our finished work. Shelf clips from Really Good Stuff are snapped onto the shelf. Write names on labels and slide them into place.
For the students: name badges and clips are attached to the seat pockets so students know where to sit.

Lunchboxes
Leaky lunchboxes don't go in backpacks or in cubbies. They go in the lunchbox basket! (Much easier to clean!)
Power Rules
Power rules are posted above my calendar wall. We chant and sign our power rules every morning. At the beginning of the year, students also have a Power Rules booklet to take home and read to their family.
